Best Korean Foods to Try in Seoul

korean foods

I miss Seoul! And, definitely miss these top Korean foods..

I am definitely feeling the “Seoul hangover” vibe. If only it is easy to book the next plane ticket available to go to Seoul – I’d do that in a heartbeat. And, to be honest, I’d go anywhere to take a mini break these days, too!
Shopping aside, Korean food is one of the things I enjoyed while we were in Seoul. Kimchi is a normal side dish I often stuff my face with, which I have grown to love a lot more during the trip! So, just imagine I have probably tried all sorts of variants (and shapes!) of this famous Korean side-dish.

Review: Taste of Brazil (Groupon)

Trying Taste of Brazil’s 5-platter menu for Groupon

Did you ever experience badly craving to go out for a bite but don’t have enough money to spend? That’s me these days. Trying to save some cash for an upcoming trip so as much as possible, I want to be a bit frugal when it comes to spending my money when eating out.
During these times, I often visit Groupon or LivingSocial and get some deals to eat out. I don’t want to keep eating the same food I have inside the house, been indoors during weekdays so itching to go out, too. And I don’t want to stuff myself with fast food the entire time I am trying to be a bit frugal, LOL! So, buying vouchers is the next best thing for me!

Top things I enjoyed in Seoul!

Changdeokgung

I still think about Seoul. So, let me share the best experiences I’ve had while in there!

Our recent trip to Seoul went by so fast – I wish I could easily go back again! Time flies when you’re having fun – as they say, right?
We spent about 2 weeks in Seoul but I still feel as if I haven’t been around much. Probably because we encountered a couple of challenges traveling with a toddler (you can read a related post here) around Seoul. So, we had to change plans sometimes!

Review: Beef and Lobster

beef and lobster

Beef and Lobster in Dublin was one of the few restaurants open on January 3..so we tried it out!

After the holiday festivities, Dublin city center seems like a ghost town. Some shops and restaurants are not open for business until the second week of January. So, if you are walking around the city center around this time of the year, expect some hot spots to remain closed for business!

Review: Makati Avenue

makati avenue

On my little one’s birthday, we went to Makati Avenue for an early lunch!

This is one of my super late posts! Apart from lacking time to write, there are a lot more important posts I felt must be published first before this. But as they say, “it is better late than never!
I posted about my little one’s birthday celebration over here. My son turned three but we didn’t arrange any parties for him. We felt that apart from the expense – he won’t appreciate it that much yet! He is still developing his social skills and doesn’t really care about other kids his age. So planning a party may not be the most practical thing to do.

Review: Duck

Badly craving for some noodles topped with roasted duck, alright

Back in the days when I was living in Singapore, eating HongKong-style noodles topped with roasted duck was one of my comfort foods. I love the simplicity of the food not to mention it is super cheap over there, too!
However, after relocating here, I didn’t find any that does it the way I got used to. Of course, we had the very common chow mien when dining in Chinese restaurants in the city but sometimes, simplicity is the key to finding good food.

Review: A Slice of Cake Cafe

A slice of cake cafe

A perfect brunch place just a little bit outside of Dublin city center..

My husband took some time off from work a day before his driving test. He thought that taking that extra day to “keep the test away from his mind” may help him to pass the test. We definitely had an enjoyable (and rare) brunch date that day. But unfortunately, it did not help him pass it, sigh.
For that day, we decided to go somewhere a little bit outside of Dublin city center. We did not take our son with us and left him with the minder since we only planned to step out in the morning and come back after brunch. So we ended up having our brunch at A Slice of Cake Cafe.

Review: Pho Viet

pho viet

A nice and warm bowl of pho at Pho Viet to warm our freezing hands..

It’s been a while since I had a nice, warm bowl of Pho. I guess the temperature didn’t plummet until close to the end of winter. Or, my soup cravings have been mostly satisfied by the nearby Japanese restaurant in IFSC. But one day after catching on some winter sales in the city center, I craved for some nice bowl of pho. That’s when we decided to go to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Viet in an instant!

Review: Sika Restaurant

Included in our Christmas package at Powerscourt is a Christmas eve dinner at Sika Restaurant

During our stay at Powerscourt Hotel last Christmas, it included a pre-booked Christmas Eve dinner at the hotel’s restaurant named Sika. When I was writing my Powerscourt-related posts (you could read about our Christmas Package special here and here), I thought that the Christmas Eve dinner experience deserved its own post. So, here it goes..

Review: Whitefriar Grill

Our pre-Valentine’s Day weekend at Whitefriar Grill

Since having our little man, our dates became a bit different. Events such as Valentine’s Day or our wedding anniversary meant that we don’t go out just me and my husband. Of course, we always have a choice get a minder so we can have some “alone time”. We do that sometimes but we feel different eating by ourselves and not having a little demanding toddler beside us! Weird, no? LOL!
