After the sumptuous Christmas Eve meal at the Sika restaurant in Powerscourt Hotel..
After our fantastic Christmas Eve meal at the Sika restaurant (that I haven’t written a review yet, whoops!), we were so excited about our Mountainview Suite and looked forward to our evening of rest. We didn’t book for any babysitting arrangements and decided to stay inside our hotel room to relax after a short tour of the hotel.

A great seafood catch at Catch-22!
Catch-22 is a new-ish seafood joint in Dublin city center. We would’ve probably been in this place a lot more often if only they had more space or if more chairs are “child-friendly“. They do have high-chair/booster seats if you are dining with a small child but I think it is a bit flimsy especially if you were given a high table and chair.

On the weekend before Christmas, we had lunch at Brasserie 66

So imagine my excitement when I read Five Guys is FINALLY opening a branch in Dublin?! I was so ecstatic we dropped by their only branch (for now) located at Dundrum shopping center on the first weekend after the news.

A great catch up session with a friend at Ely Wine Bar!
These days, I rarely go out for dinner. Apart from minding my son most evenings, most of the people I know are also busy on weekday nights. And I think it is also usual for families with little kids to have a preference to do socials on weekends at lunch time, too.
I blogged about a friend who came a couple of months ago to visit – and it eventually led to one of the few instances I was able to go out for dinner. Weeks before she arrived (even with the Visa issues around), she told me she wanted to go out for dinner just like the old days when I was still living in Singapore. I thought it was a great chance to go out without the little one for a change! Continue reading “Review: Ely Wine Bar (CHQ)” »
