Review: The Oar House

the oar house

When we find ourselves in Howth, we often go to The Oar House

Howth is a top-choice when the sun is shining brightly in Dublin. It is a great place to spend the day walking around the area. Apart from buying fresh seafood from the local fish monger, there are good quality restaurants around the area, too!

Enjoying the Irish Village Markets at Spencer Dock!

irish village market

Been a looong time since I’ve been to the Irish Village Markets even if it was super close to home!

Every Wednesday at lunchtime, there are food stalls selling freshly-made and easy-to-eat lunchboxes. The food options are quite good. There are gourmet burgers, paella, kebabs and the usual Irish staple – fish and chips! The location was literally just across the street from where we live but it’s been such a long time since I’ve been here! The market starts at around 11:30 AM and ends at around 2 or 3-ish in the afternoon. Roughly around the same time that I always get busy with meetings and work. But now that I am a stay-at-home Mom, I can finally grab a quick bite from the stalls! Yay!

Review: Kopitiam

nasi lemak kopitiam

Been craving for Malaysian/Singaporean food for sometime now and so glad to find Kopitiam!

Dublin is fast becoming a city with a diverse taste. All thanks to the growing numbers of migrants entering the city. But these developments did not happen overnight. My husband often tells me the food scene in Dublin when heĀ  arrived more than 10 years ago is nothing compared to what we have right now. And even so, I still feel as if there are certain cuisines I am missing over here!

Suddenly missing Seoul: Drunken Fish wedding anniversary dinner!

drunken fish

We recently celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary! Woot! So, off we went to have dinner at Drunken Fish..

Let me begin by saying that this is not a thorough restaurant review of Drunken Fish – a Korean restaurant in the IFSC area in Dublin. We’ve been here countless times before and have eaten more “familiar” Korean dishes. But, this is the first time we visited the place after our recent Seoul trip. We went here on one of the rare sunny and warm weeknights in Ireland. And, also to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

Review: ML Chinese Restaurant

dublin sunny

A late post, but let me share with you where we went for Mother’s Day..

Chinese food is one of my husband’s comfort food. But even if this is mostly my husband’s “thing” I also miss the occasional yang chow fried rice or Schezuan-based dishes quality Chinese restaurants around Dublin has to offer!
Similar to the years before, we celebrated Mother’s Day last May. We’ve grown accustomed to this because this is when we celebrate Mother’s Day in the Philippines. So, we decided to keep what we know!

Errands + Lunch at Yamamori!

yamamori

Had a mini celebration lunch at Yamamori along the Quays..

There’s a lot of things going on in our household over the past weeks. I don’t want to divulge anything at the moment until everything’s settled, though. But let’s just say that things are progressing quite nicely.

Review: The Marker Hotel Brasserie

crab meat linguine the marker brasserie

The Marker Hotel Brasserie has been a favorite for a long time – and I’ll share why

The Marker Hotel Brasserie is one of our favorite dining places in Dublin. The location is superb (especially if it’s a warm day) not to mention the prices is not that expensive – if I compare it to other dining places we go to around Dublin city center.

Father’s Day Lunch at Chez Max

chez max

My husband chose Chez Max at Palace St to celebrate Father’s Day last June..

It’s been a while since we dined at Chez Max at Palace St. And for a long time, I really, really thought it was Baggot St. LOL! Well, that only proves one thing – my sense of direction is terrible!!!!

Review: Siam Thai Restaurant

siam dundrum

Been a while since I had Thai food! So we decided to go visit Siam – a Thai restaurant in Dundrum shopping center

Dundrum shopping center is one of our go-to places when we want to have a “different day” on a weekend. Because it is quite far from where we live, we often stay there for the entire day. We usually go there early in the morning. And then, let our son play in a play cafe inside the shopping center, have lunch, and just roam around the mall while my son takes his nap.
